GE E840 Digital Camera

[PMA 2008] GE’s E840 is an intermediate 8 megapixel camera that sits right below the premium casual shutterbug range, featuring a lightweight and slim body that measures just 19.5mm, making it a cinch to slip into your pocket anytime, anywhere. Is it just me or does all GE cameras that we’ve covered so far today start to look the same? I personally wish that when it comes to different models, the specifications would at least change a fair bit so as not to confuse customers. To use an analogy, what GE is doing now sounds as though they’re offering food portions in the sizes of extremely small, not so small, rather small, not-quite-small, and small, ad infinitum.

  • 8 megapixels
  • 4x optical zoom
  • 2.7″ LCD display

  • Electronic Image Stabilizer

  • Smile Detection

  • Face Detection

  • Up to ISO 1600

  • Red-Eye Removal

  • Blink Detection

GE E1235 Digital Camera

[PMA 2008] GE’s new E1235 digital camera is but a point-and-shoot model, so don’t go expecting great things out of it and it won’t disappoint. I’m getting rather tired of the megapixel race, and 12 million pixels on the E1235 might be a bit too much for me to stomach. After all, how many folks are going to actually blow up their photographs to such a huge size? You’d need a mansion to plaster those images on the wall. List of specifications are as below.

  • 12 megapixels
  • 3x optical zoom
  • 2.7″ LCD display

  • Electronic Image Stabilizer

  • Smile Detection

  • Face Detection

  • Up to ISO 3200

  • Red-Eye Removal

  • Blink Detection

Hands free - germ free soap dispenser

simple-human-soap

More and more wash rooms these days have those infrared devices installed on the toilets and faucets that automatically turn on and off just by hand (or bottom) motion. You see them everywhere in public men and women’s rooms. I would assume that less touching things mean less germs being transferred from person to person. The Hands Free Germ Free Soap Dispenser uses that technology by letting the soap dispense automatically by your hand motion. The optional LED light timer helps you get super clean, blinking for 20 seconds to indicate how expanded to lather for germ-free hands. There are four volume settings that allow the pump to dispense preset amounts of soap or lotion. Operates on 4 AA batteries (not included).

Shocker: PCs to Use Same CPU than MacBook Air

PCs to Use Same CPU than MacBook Air

Today, I’ve seen plenty of articles ranging from “Fujitsu, Lenovo to use MacBook Air CPU?” to “PC vendors to use the MacBook Air’s tiny Intel chip”. So what would build public think that Intel build a chip “just for Apple”? After all, MacBooks are “pretty PCs’, using PC components made by PC-centric companies. The most vital differentiator is Mac OS.

Of course, there’s no question that MacBooks have taken an fundamental share of the market, but common, Intel isn’t just going to sell a small-package chip to Apple only. I’m not even buying the view that Intel built the chip considering Apple asked them to. It is not as whether the view of creating smaller chips and packaging is new…

Others ultra-thin laptops will come and they might even have more ports and an optical drive.
