Word on the street has it that Dell is on the verge of dipping its toes into the smartphone market yet again, with the Texas PC maker allegedly working with Taiwanese manufacturing firm Quanta on producing such a handset. It is additionally said that that new smartphone will focus more on music and video playback in addition to World Wide Web access, but it has yet to be confirmed
as to whether that device will be using a customized interface or off-the-shelf software. While there is no word on a concrete release period, chances are that Dell offering will hit the market sometime early next year. Perhaps we will see an announcement at CES 2008 ?
